Largely unknown and uncredited for many years, Lonnie Frisbee has recently garnered much interest concerning his influence on the modern-day charismatic world, as many books and documentaries have been released in the last few years that highlight the role of this unique, anointed, and controversial figure in contemporary church history.

Though his childhood was marked by neglect, abandonment, and abuse that would, as with anyone with childhood trauma, have a lasting effect on his life, Lonnie was also marked by the purpose and grace of God. After experimenting with different drugs and forms of spirituality through his teenage years, Lonnie radically converted to Christianity, becoming an evangelist who would help draw thousands to Christ while ministering alongside Chuck Smith at a small church called Calvary Chapel. Over the next few decades Lonnie’s ministry directly impacted many nations, influenced ministers, and sparked church movements still impacting the world today.
